Home is where we find peace. Home is where we find security. Home is where we find love. All of these can be found in the beautiful surrounding at The Independence House and our community is designed to incorporate all of the comforts of home.
Our meals are lovingly prepared everyday in our kitchens and residents enjoy family-style meals in a beautifully decorated dining room. Residents also enjoy nutritional snacks and are welcome to fix their favorite foods during group cooking activities or with the assistance of a team member.
Our activity professionals engage our residents in a variety of individual and group activities. Your loved one will enjoy activities that instill a feeling of familiarity and are introduced to new experiences where they might find comfort and a sense of calm. Arts and crafts, music, cooking and games all help your loved one remain engaged and live a fulfilling life. In addition, our “pet therapy” sessions help residents stay calm and relaxed and provide a sense of security for your loved one. These well-trained pets encourage residents to open up, laugh and, for many, instill a sense of familiarity.
Even though we offer a variety of activities, we also understand how important routines play in those with memory loss. Daily routines help our residents feel safe and secure. Therefore, we combine both the familiar and the new to help your loved one feel relaxed while engaging them in activities that will help them lead a fulfilling life.
Our residents enjoy the assistance we provide with daily chores such as laundry care, bed making and general housekeeping. You can rest assured your loved one’s personal needs are met through the loving caring and attention of trained professionals.
The medical professionals at The Independence House closely monitor each resident’s health and well-being. With 24-hour medication monitoring, reminders of hydration and toileting, your loved one will receive personal medical attention from professionals trained in the unique issues that come with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Day and Respite Services
Caring for a loved one with memory loss can be difficult. With work and family commitments, most caregivers are unable to provide care 24/7. We can help.
The Independence House offers day and respite services allowing caregivers time for work or to care for other family members. Those in the day and respite programs receive the same loving, caring attention and access to a variety of daily activities designed to engage the resident while maintaining quality of life.
It’s okay to ask for help even just for a short time. Contact us and we’ll show you how we can help make life a little easier for you and your family.
Rates
The Independence House is an affordable option for your loved one. We charge flat-fee rates and the cost does not increase with the level of care.
